Technical data for Genipin
Genipin is the hydrolysate of geniposide by beta-glucosidase. It is an excellent natural bio-crosslinker that can crosslink proteins, collagen, gelatin and chitosan into biomaterials such as artificial bone and wound dressings. Its toxicity is far lower than that of glutaraldehyde and other common chemical crosslinkers. It can also be used for liver disease treatment, blood pressure reduction and constipation relief. Research shows genipin can alleviate type II diabetes symptoms, and it can also be used as a fingerprint reagent.
Beyond genipin, the company also develops and supplies the following products
The precursor of genipin, which can be hydrolyzed into genipin, also extracted from gardenia fruit.
A natural blue pigment from gardenia, safe for coloring in food and pharmaceutical fields.
A natural yellow pigment with stable color, widely used in food and daily products.
